Fully automated milling machines make Idé-Pro even more efficient
Demand for shorter delivery times has prompted Idé-Pro to expand its toolmaking facilities with two DN Solutions milling machines and a pallet system designed to accelerate production even further.
Efficiency and flexibility.
Because Idé-Pro handles every part of the process in-house, it is essential that its production can keep pace, especially as the industry continues to demand shorter delivery times.
Idé-Pro therefore needs to manufacture faster and deliver complex components in record time.
This places high demands on its toolmaking facility, which must be extremely efficient. The facility is essential to Idé-Pro’s overall business and plays a key role in ensuring efficiency, flexibility and competitive pricing.
The machines have made us significantly more efficient because we can operate around the clock. At the same time, we have a clear overview because everything is handled on a single machine.
We save time because we no longer need to move the workpieces from one machine to another. Previously, we might have needed to move from a 3-axis machine to a 5-axis machine. Now, we complete the entire component in a single operation.
The benefits are numerous.
The expansion of Idé-Pro’s production setup provides several advantages, including:
- Components can now be completed in a single operation
- 24/7 production is possible with limited staffing
- Both machines are controlled from one central location
- Workflows are streamlined, minimising production time
Two new high-productivity milling machines.
The solution consists of a DN Solutions DHF 8000 and an NHP 8000. These two milling machines provide excellent cutting performance and high productivity, two important factors when the goal is to increase efficiency.
Idé-Pro also received a chip reader integrated into the machine. This means that the operator no longer needs to return to the control every time a tool is loaded to enter its length, tool number and other information. Once again, this saves valuable time.
An efficient and natural extension of production.
Morten Nors, owner and founder of Idé-Pro, clearly sees how the machines supplied by Duroc Machine Tool complement the company’s fully automated tool production and provide several benefits, both now and in the long term:
“We hope that expanding our production with these machines will allow us to increase our toolmaking revenue. First and foremost, however, we have replaced our old machine setup. It consisted of medium-sized machine tools that required a great deal of manual work and could not complete the entire operation.” Morten Nors, Owner and Founder of Idé-Pro
Morten also explains that the new machines are expected to enable Idé-Pro to produce more with fewer operators.
